Finally, I didn't forget Ignite was playing in the Melkweg, Amsterdam. A friend from school and Metalrage asked me to go to both shows and so we did. Last Sunday (19th of September) we were on our way to Amsterdam, the shivers only started. When we arrived at the Melkweg we were in time to see both supports and we were standing in de center of the venue.

The first band of the night was I Reject. This Hardcore band has got its roots in the Netherlands. The show the musicians played was very good and the music wasn't that bad. But the vocalist of the band was not natural and original enough for me. His singing wasn't that bad but his act on the stage was fake to me, it just didn't fit in the show. And when this dude came into the venue during Ignite, being pissed as hell and running into the audience that was watching normally this dude went only further down for me. What a huge LOSER. If you want to show of your whiskey and fight, go into the pit in stead of running into a 16 year old girl her back!!

The second band of the night was Misconduct. This hardcore band comes out of Sweden and their stage act was energetic, natural and they invited the audience to take five steps forward after each song. It surprised me that lead singer Fredrik kept telling everybody to take five steps forward. Halfway during the set the band played a song for the wife of Fredrik who has to put up with these guys everyday, he was even singing directly to her. A sign of true love ;). The set was pretty long and they were sure warming up the audience for what was to come.

After a set change it was time to see the band that had taken place two on my bands I wanted to see list. Ignite entered the stage with their new guitar player who doesn't look like a Hardcore artist but more like a Rock'n'Roll dude, halfway during the show he gave a awesome solo and that proved the fact that he was an Rock'n'Roll player. The set of Ignite contained all of their greatest hits like Run, Call on My Brothers, A Place Called Home and even the cover of U2, Sunday Bloody Sunday. Although lead singer Zoli looked like he was ill his voice was amazing and the shivers were going all around my body. It is great to see a hardcore singer with a voice that great. Every song he proves that he can keep up the speed and power that this band produces.

Zoli also constantly brought up the Iraq affair and he was wearing his FUCK BUSH shirt. Normally I laugh to bands who talk about Bush in Europe but this dude knows what he is talking about. He even was walking the protest march in Budapest where he has his roots.

I hated the fact that I left my camera in the car but I hope that the light next Sunday is as good as this show! But the lights in Arnhem aren't as good in the Melkweg, let us pray...

When the band was finished I wanted to wait for Zoli, because I wanted to ask him if we could do an interview in Arnhem next Sunday. I spoke with a roadie and when he saw my Superbutt shirt (=Hungarian band and friends of the band) he brought me to the dressing room. And when I entered Zoli shouted SUPERBUTT and the bass player started to sing a Superbutt song. After a short conversation we decided to have an interview 45 minutes after the show in Arnhem. But it had to be a great interview without normal questions, so be prepared!
