When the word got on the street that Hatebreed was joining the Unholy Alliance I was jumping around my room. But shortly afterwards they cancelled this support for the Dutch occurence. Luckily enough for us Hatebreed was playing ateral, headlining the Melkweg on October 12th. I got the chance to see that show. Arriving at the Melkweg I saw that Maroon was cancelled, but Heaven Shall Burn was still playing.

Before the show I had heard about this band German band before so I was looking forward to see this band perform live. Heaven Shall Burn has got a pretty original style: Death Metalcore. Although these guys didn’t break through in the real metal-world yet, they surely were able to convince me of their qualities. A tight and especially loud set list is being performed. Straight to your face! The vocalist has got a very brutal voice and I think he entertained the people very good being on stage as a support act. It’s a pity that the rest of the band didn’t even pretend to put a smile on their faces.
Because I don’t know their whole album yet I only recognised their first song ‘The Weapon They Fear’ which is also the title track of the album. Other songs that were played are ‘Tree of Freedom and ‘Architects of the Apocalypse’.

And again we had to wait quite some time before Hatebreed entered the stage. On that moment we didn't knew what to expect but it sure was going to be an memorable show that night. The last time I saw Hatebreed was at the Midsummer Hardcore Event and I had to leave early, this time I got to see the entire show which lasted for 1,5 hour. The band played allmost every song of their "Under The Knife EP" and "Satisfaction is the Death of Desire" and most of the songs that are on their last two full lengths. The crowd was going crazy from the moment Hatebreed started the show. People were almost stagediving constantly and after a couple of songs roadies were constantly pushing people back into the audience.
During the show vocalist Jamey was constantly pushing the crowd to go faster and harder, one circle pit after the other, the wall of death and constant moshing was the result. When Jamey asked if the audience wanted to hear more everyone was screaming for more, and so Hatebreed did. So far they played a little over 10 songs but the band kept going. At the end I think I counted 20 (or more...?!). Offcourse the band ended with their biggest hit "I Will Be Heard" and the crowd was going crazy once again. After they were finished they were talking to the audience for a long time, showing their respect for giving Hatebreed also a night to remember.
The show Hatebreed was feeding to the Dutch audience sure was one to remember, hardcore fans don't often get to see a long shows but Hatebreed proofed that their energy has got no limits.
