American Head Charge  


I saw this band perform before in the HMH a few years ago, supporting Slipknot. I thought they were crap back then, and everybody there agreed. They probably were too inexperienced to play such a big tour. Perhaps that’s the reason that they never really made it big in Holland. But things have changed for the better! I must say I was quite impressed and they did make me enjoy the show. The singer did a good job, both on the grunting parts and the clean singing. The bass player rocked his six stringed bass like hell. They had some catchy tunes going and I think they have definitely grown to be a band to look out for.

 

This band has somehow always formed it’s own category. I witnessed they performance at mini-Dynamo in 2000 and was already impressed by their distinctive sound. This time they had the chance to play a smaller stage. The singer visibly enjoyed it, saying he loved being able to look everybody in the eyes. The band started its set with some loud songs. Again a band with a raging bass player. Man! And the sound was excellent. I was able to hear every subtle detail and yet the overall sound was blowing me away. Halfway through the show there was some room for the more melodic and quiet songs. ‘A World So Cold’ got pulled of with great passion. Towards the end of the set it was time again for the loud songs. Mudvayne concluded with anthems such as ‘Not Falling’ and ‘Dig’. I really enjoyed this night, and next time when Mudvayne is attending our metal-loving country, I will be there. For sure.
