When I entered the venue I immediately noticed it was very crowded at the merchandise stand. One of the employees of the stand even told me she didn’t understand it, this was the first time some of the shirts were sold out before the band actually played one song. After the nice chat with the merchandise lady I went to look for Carn because he would arrange me a ride home.

 

With Carn and some other people I entered the hall where the stage was. When we arranged some drinks, it happened; the stage lights went out and we were off to a great Tool show. Immediately a tension was build up and when Tool entered the stage the crowd got wild. They started with ‘Lost Keys’ which was followed by ‘Rosetta Stoned’. After this there was a magical moment where Maynard Keenan started to speak. He welcomed the audience and told them they could make much more sound then they already did. And of course, with the beginning of 'Stinkfist' the audience did.

 

With ‘Forty Six & 2’  the show started to get to the top where it would stay for the rest of the evening with songs like ‘Jambi’, ‘Schism’, ‘Right in Two’, ‘Sober’ and ‘Lateralus’. And of course Tool wouldn’t be Tool if they did something weird. So after ‘Lateralus’  the whole band sat down on stage just to have drink. During this, the audience kept roaring, clapping  and screaming for more and they got more. With the songs ‘Vicarious’ and ‘Aenema’ they ended their set leaving the audience screaming for more.

 

They created the Tool atmosphere on stage with four video walls that showed the audience nice visuals and the video clips of several songs. Add to this the great performance of the band and you have another show for the top ten list of best shows.
