In the summer of 2004 negotiations to re-release the entire Gorefest back catalogue resulted in the band reforming. And so after a 6 year hiatus Gorefest is back in its original mark II line-up. The band will appear at selected festivals such as Dynamo Open Air, Wacken Open Air and Graspop, after which they will enter the studio to record a brandnew album. The release of said album will mark the band's renewed affiliation with Nuclear Blast Records.

Astrosoniq is characterised by Marcels massive swinging drumbeats, Eriks detailed, pounding basslines, (ba)rons power riffs and fine, sometimes outragious solos and Fred & Eriks catchy vocals, often covered with an alien sauce of weird samples and space-sounds, this all being submerged in an extremely fat and unpolished sound. with above ingredients, Astrosoniq has developed an entirely unique sound in their own torture garden studios. Looking at reviews from previous releases, this has created quite a sensation in their home country, as well as abroad. the over-the-top conceptual “hairy” artwork of artist and special guest musician Willum (of Human Alert) and the fine, alienating live video footage of the Roadburn-collective reinforce the against-the-grain set of mind of this brabantine diy-crew.
