Bonfire has been in the scene for over 20 years now. Their story started back in the eighties. And you know what that means…..hell yeah; mullets, leather pants and denim jackets! But again, that were the eighties. We’re living in another century now. That’s why most bands from back then, that still play like nothing ever changed, can’t really enthusiast me. Bonfire is one of those bands. But this live DVD named Double Vision, contains one of their gigs and does rock more than I expected.

 

It’s recorded during their Double X Anniversary Tour in England in November 2006. They played a one hour set at Nottingham’s Rock City club. Their opening song ‘Day 911’ comes from their latest album Double X which is already like their 20^th or 21^st record. You could imagine that there are some differences between their first and last release. But whether it’s 80’s or 90’s rock, Bonfire does it all.

 

The show is captured with eight different cameras. Because of all the different stands it’s fun to watch. You’ll get to see all the Bonfire members in action. Overall it’s a high quality DVD. Excellent camera work, outstanding sound quality and great editing. Next to that, Double Vision contains some bonus features like the unreleased concert Rock Gegen Rechts from back in 2002. It also has a collection of different Bonfire music videos. It’s great to see how they did it ‘back in the past’. If only I was a rock star back then…haha. Of course the DVD has a behind the scenes part. Isn’t it always fun to see bands high-five before each concert?

 

For Bonfire fans this DVD is a great addition to their collection. If you’re into melodic rock or into eighties rock maybe it’s time for you to discover Bonfire.
