Almost two years ago, my sister and her boyfriend started an online radio station called Hollow Earth, featuring “found sound, field recordings, story-telling (sometimes paranormal), dream-collecting, radio plays, live house shows and local in-home performances.” In addition to creating an eccentric online station for people to listen to from the comfort of their homes, they have held some pretty cool events in Seattle to foster a sense of community (Magma Fest) and to promote local musicians, whilst raising money to…

The five mellifluous, industrious, and hirsute young men of Fleet Foxes have, it was announced earlier today, won the inaugural Uncut Music Award! The Fleet Foxes’ debut won out over some very stiff competition, including the likes ot Radiohead, The Raconteurs, Vampire Weekend, Drive-By Truckers, and Bon Iver.
