Alter Bridge - Shredfest at 013

I know Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillis and Brian Marshall from Creed. The athrocious singing is replaced by new frontman Myles Kennedy and the overall sound toughend up! I got the chance to interview Mark and Scott, and see the show after that. I must say, I had a good evening!

The pre-shows are always something I'm not really into, although that way you sometimes miss out on good bands. Tonight however, I was pleasantly surprised by Enjoy Destroy at first, but it wasn't something that stuck it out all the way. It was a Britpop band trying too damn hard to be metal. So after a couple of beer, Alter Bridge took the stage....

They set the tone right away by giving away heavy riffs and rocking the place!!! From the start it was obvious that seeing Mark Tremonti play his guitar is something special indeed. Accompanied by a giant cardboard wah-pedal that was handed to him by an eager fan in the audience. This man knows his stuff, without going overboard. Switching between different sounds on his pedalboard didn't go all that flawless, but that didn't affect the performance. They played a lot from the new album, including my favourite 'Ties That Bind'.

Alter Bridge played on for quite a while before leaving the stage. They came back for a three song encore including their hit single 'Rise Today'. Alter Bridge gave their fans their money's worth. Go see this band!!!
