 | Interview: Slayer
At this time the lovely press lady informs us that it is time, so we take a moment to act like fans and give our copies of Christ Illusion to Kerry for him to sign. Can life be better than this? I seriously doubt so. Yes ladies and gentlemen, Metalrage did it. Metalrage fucking did it! We interviewed Slayer’s Kerry fucking King! This is why they invented a phrase like HELL YEAH!!!! | Live Review: Slayer, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Thine Eyes Bleed - Unholy Alliance Tour 2006: Preaching To The Perverted |
|---|
| The kick-off date for the European version of Slayer’s Unholy Alliance tour was in our little country, and of course we had some people present there. Unfortunately we all missed Thine Eyes Bleed and Lamb Of God wasn’t included in Holland, but the rest has been witnessed and reviewed below for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!

 | Interview: Killswitch Engage
It’s kinda true that the shows in the US are a bit crazier. People are a little nuts in the US. And they’re more violent you know. At the same time, Europe and the US are two totally different things. The US is more trend-oriented when you come over to Europe the fans are really your fans you know. They come out for you. They just care about trends less than in the US. That’s just good to see. I really like playing in front of the crowds over here. Read More...» |
| Live Review: Hed pe, OPM, Demia - Metal, punkrock, hip hop and reggae. |
|---|
| This was the second time that Hed pe visited our country this year, and of course Metalrage was present with sufficient reviewers. An interview unfortunately didn’t happen this time, but it might be done by mail after they finish their tour. For now, here’s the review of the show.
Opening band was Demia, a band that is searching for a label ... Read More...» |
 | Interview: Papa Roach
On the 15th of October, me and Shaydee went to Tilburg to see the one band we’ve been going to ever since their first gig in the Netherlands. This time, we had an appointment with drummer Dave Buckner and bass player Tobin Esperance from Papa Roach to talk about their latest record, the changes of the band and the upcoming future while eating stroopwafels. | Album Review: Amplifier - Insider |
|---|
| I once checked Amplifier’s The Astronaut Dismantles Hal single out because it was in our local record store’s stoner department. But I was disappointed because I was looking for some heavy brutal stoner doom, but I got this soft rock stuff. As we received their new full-length album I co... Read More...» |
| Live Review: Stone Sour, Astrosoniq - Supported by Dutch rockers |
|---|
| November 02nd was printed in my memory for quite a while. The reason; Stone Sour. I was eager to see these guys playing again and therefore I travelled quite a while to get to the 013.
Astrosoniq
The first band on stage carries the name Astrosoniq and they have their roots in Oss (Netherlands). Although one member actually lives in Tilbu... Read More...» |
 | CD Review: Trivium - The Crusade
In the end Trivium put out a record that is a step forward for them as musicians. The band will lose some fans and probably gain some new ones from a probably preferable crowd. This record might be their first real step in their “crusade” to become legendary, but if they keep improving themselves with every record there is no reason why they shouldn’t become one of the biggest bands in the future. | Live Review: Agents of Man - Rocking the stage as if their lives depend on it |
|---|
| Agents of Man has been around for quite some years and after getting signed to Century Media, my hopes became reality: the band would tour the European mainland. They did a tour, got dropped by Century Media and now they're back with a DIY tour. Me and Maurits went to Arnhem to check them out.
There were five support acts LBC, Morning Red,... Read More...» |
 | CD Review: Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist
It's hard to tell if Saturday Night Wrist will become another Deftones classic. My experience is that Deftones albums have to grow on you, you can not draw an instant conclusion. But one thing about this album is for sure: it will remind you of everything that makes Deftones such an outstanding and distinctive band. Read More...» |
| Interview: Mushroomhead - We are what we are |
|---|
| A few days ago I put a review online for the latest album of Mushroomhead. I gotta admit that I didn’t know any previous albums of ‘em, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one, Savior Sorrow. As always I took the opportunity to ask some questions, here’s the result.
Hey, how are you?
GREAT!!!
Can you ... Read More...» |
 | Album Review: Norma Jean - Redeemer |
|---|
| It must be at least 2 years ago I went to see Atreyu live for the first time. The support bands were He Is Legend and Norma Jean. I liked both bands way better than Atreyu and especially Norma Jean convinced me that night. But, lazy as I was after that night, I never put some energy in getting their... Read More...» |
| Interview: Textures - Drawing Circles in Tilburg |
|---|
| Textures released their sophomore album ‘Drawing Circles’ earlier this year, and at the release show in Tilburg I had a talk with Eric (vocals), Richard (synths) and Bart (guitar). Thanks to my crappy recorder I couldn’t always make out who said what, and it was quite a feat to filter through all the bad jokes but somehow I m... Read More...» |
 | Album Review: Papa Roach - The Paramour Sessions |
|---|
| Papa Roach has always been a very special band for me. I saw my first violent moshpit at my first gig more than an hour from my house where I witnessed the screaming of groupies for the first time. And although some of you will think the band has too much commercial aspirations, I think anyone who&r... Read More...» | |
