Displeased Records
Displeased Records website
Displeased Records started in 1990 with releasing underground
compilation CDs. Since 1993 we started releasing full length band albums
from mainly Dutch metal acts like Nembrionic, Consolation, Altar and
Celestial Season. Soon after a deal was inked with Roadrunner for the
release of some of their classics on CD; Infernal Majesty, Whiplash, and
Pestilence.
Displeased Records consisted of the record label, a mailorder
(Dis-order) and a distribution service. In the past 10 years since we do
distribution, we have had exclusive deals with labels like Osmose, No
Fashion, Napalm Records, Relapse, Moribund, Red Stream and Voices of
Wonder. In 2001 we started a sublabel From Beyond Productions, which
specialized in (re)releasing extreme (oc)cult metal recordings. FBP
releases don't fit Displeased Records' label framework because of the
essence of their content, which is usually of a deeper underground
nature. FBP did releases by bands like Blasphemy, Necro Schizma,
Pentagram, NunSlaughter, Sepsism, Master, Goretrade and Armagedda.
In the meantime Displeased Records released some great records by bands
like Perished, Manegarm, Even Song, Cryptopsy, Circle of Dead Children,
Enthral, Internal Suffering, Houwitser, Killaman and Officium Triste.
And vinyl rereleases of Opeth, Cryptopsy, Borknagar, Moonspell, Ulver,
Zyklon and many more.
Displeased Records will have some nice gems for the future. Keep
checking our website for release info, loads of MP3s and a very large
mailorder.

Hard Life Promotion
Hard Life Promotion website
What Hard Life Promotion does:
> We build up the programme for the mailout, which is with any doubt an important aspect.
> After this we start sending out the stuff we get in(promos, advanced tapes, radiosingles, videos, CD-Rom or finished products). This will all go out to our mediapartners, together bios and other info.
> We'll be in constant contact with the media after they have received their package.
> If we work with Soundchecks or extra interviews we can send out extra copies afterwards, or at the same time, it all depends on how fast we know things from the media.
> We also collect all the evidence that comes in, like reviews, interviews or playlists. From playlists we make a monthly overview which will be send out to our labelpartners. They also will get to see the reviews and the interviews.

Other things we do for our clients:
> Send updates on a regular bases if necessary, keep them informed about the things that are happening.
> Reacting to new situations and searching for new contacts the whole time.
> Refreshing our work and try to do new things. The better our work can be done the better for the labels.
> We can help out with advertising plans although this also goes alot through the distributor. Bur for fanzines and online magazines we can help directly.
> We spread your newsinformation and show/tourdates on a regular base. We filter everything that comes in through our clients and we make our own mailings for that.
> We do co-operate with the media on competitions, free give-away contests at radioshows or online magazines, contests on our own site and other things we can do.
> Posters, flyers, stickers, etc, can be spread through our mailings but we also use our own streetteam for that. So we're able to spread these things at recordstores, venues, bars or other places where musicfans do hang out.

HardeBaran
HardeBaran website
To make music is not just a production process. It's a form of expression in which you often invest a vast proportion of your most intimate thoughts and feelings. This is why everybody has other needs when it boils down to presenting one's work to the public. To us, this means that every musician or band deserves a personalized and efficient support based on trust and respect of the artistic identity. Hardebaran aims to make the artist's passion for his/her work increase exponentially with our passion to provide it with the best of opportunities. That is why we also open our services to all of you who endeavour to spread the music one way or another (labels, zines, retailers, distributors...).

From our own experience as musicians and graphic artists, we know that nothing seems eerier than having to witness the downgrading of your brain child to a mere "product" by a slick marketing strategy that robs it of its identity by means of standardized procedures.

A decade of roaming around in the Rock and Metal circuit indeed provides us with a large database. What's way more important, though, is that it also allowed us to acquire a valuable insight in what musicians really think is important about promotion, management and booking... because understanding makes work ever so easy for everybody. That is why, in 2001, we decided to share our simultaneously acquired decade of professional experience in disciplines like international communication, cultural management and project development with our fellow musicians in order to give them the support they need and deserve for making their work stand out in the crowd.

Suburban
Suburban website
SUBURBAN MARKETING AND DISTRIBUTION B.V. was founded in 1997 by Richard Evers and Ronald Drayer, both former Rough Trade Benelux employees. Within several weeks their reputation was revealed. Labels such as Nuclear Blast and Century Media supported Suburban from the start by giving them long term exclusive distribution deals. The music industry took notice of Suburban. And soon became aware that Suburban would be the distributionpartner for independent rock labels within the Benelux. Nowadays Suburban is the biggest distribution company in the Benelux, specialised in `hard music´, where we focus on marketing and promotion. The actual sales and physical distribution are handled by Bertus Groothandel & Distributie B.V., who are masters in that area. Suburban exclusively represents some of the finest metal / rock / punklabels like: Century Media, Nuclear Blast, Steamhammer, Inside Out, White Jazz, MTM, Nitro and our own label SUBURBAN RECORDS. These labels are home of artists like The Gathering, Hellacopters, Gluecifer, Dimmu Borgir, Moonspell, 7Zuma7, S.O.D., Bruce Dickinson and Motörhead to name a few

Victory Records
Victory Records website

Having over 200 releases behind them, Chicago label Victory Records has been one of the driving forces in independent punk and hardcore music over the past decade. One look at their roster tells you the story of their past, present, and future.

Past bands on the label include Bad Brains, Boy Sets Fire, Earth Crisis, Grade, Hatebreed, Refused, Shelter, Skarhead, and Warzone - a who\'s who of modern hardcore, if you will. While many have criticized Victory\'s current roster for not having any bite, the label still possesses one of the most defining voices in the genre, Snapcase. They also have a surprisingly strong group of ska-related bands, including Catch 22, Streetlight Manifesto, and Voodoo Glow Skulls

2001 was a defining year for Victory, with the release of Thursday\'s Full Collapse. A record that has since come to define modern emotional hardcore, the disc was first released to little fanfare. Over the course of 2001 and 2002, however, the record picked up steam, and as the band made the leap to major label Island Records, controversy surrounded the issue with the band questioning Victory about their business practices, something that has always been a point of contention about the label.

Victory has taken a decidedly poppier stance in recent years. Student Rick, Count The Stars, Spitalfield, The Reunion Show, Bayside, and the enormous success of Taking Back Sunday have opened up the label to thousands of kids previously blind to the label\'s history. This trend shows no signs of stopping with the label\'s most recent signings.
