Many years have past, many people have seen them in one (or more) of their shows, Manowar. I was one of the privileged people who was able to see Manowar in Zwolle (NL) in 2002. That was truly the best live performance I’ve ever seen. Great show. So I was very curious of “Hell on Earth IV”, because I hoped to see myself on the tv. Unfortunately Zwolle was about 5 seconds on the screen and that was it. It all starts with a guy who is blowing up a condom, that was wrapped over his head. And then it is time for Kings of Metal. While I was viewing the show for about 2 minutes I thought there was something wrong and I grabbed my remote control and put op the volume. Much better! Manowar needs the decibels. The sound of the dvd is great, it just wants to blow out of your speakers. I was very pleased with what I saw. It brought up great memories. After Kings of metal different people talk about Manowar’s latest album Warriors of the world. Next, I was treated on a appearance of a great German tv-celebrity, Stefan Raab. First a short appearance of Manowar in Raab’s show ‘TV Total’, and later a performance of Raab on stage with Manowar. There is a lot of footage of booze, women, fans, bikes, booze eeehh women…. and ofcourse loads of live performances. So there is a lot of variety on this dvd. Especially the fans get a lot of attention. The live performances are edited quit well, with great direction and great sound. It is very obvious it took quite a while to make this dvd. Like I said, there is a lot of footage on this dvd, and for know I just told you about the first dvd of ‘Hell on eath IV’. Yes indeed, there is more. On the 2nd dvd you can see behind the scenes stuff about the sound engineer, fans, women, a Manowar marriage, bikes, Helicopters and of course Manowar. The 2nd dvd also includes appearances of Manowar in tv-shows and at awards. But wait, there is more! Another dvd? No a cd, with a previously unreleased song of their upcoming album ‘King of kings’. What can I say about this song? Well it is pure Manowar, that should say enough. This dvd is a real must have for the Manowar fan. BONUS DISC: |
