| German extreme metal outfit Anima entered Rape Of Harmonies studio in Triptis on May 11 to begin recording the guitars and bass for their as-yet-untitled new album, tentatively due in July/August via Metal Blade Records. "Together with Alexander Dietz (Heaven Shall Burn) we started recording the guitars and the recordings were just as funny as professional," the band writes in a press release. "Work was done quckly so we continued with the bass. Together with Patrick W. Engel and Ralf Mller this happened just within a day so we could travel home this past Thursday. We will continue with the vocal recordings in early June ? together with Sebastian Reichl (Deadlock) at the helm." Anima formed in the summer of 2005 under the name of Metmachines before renaming itself Today Heaven'S Dying and eventually settling on the Anima moniker. The band completed its debut CD, "Souls of the Decedents", in the summer of 2006 at 138 Studios in Ellrich. This was followed by the recording sessions for "The Daily Grind" mini-CD in the fall of 2007 at Slaughter's Palace and Rape of Harmonies studios, but this effort was never released. Anima is: Robert Horn - Vocals Justin Schöler - Bass Steven Holl - Guitar Andre Steinmann - Guitar Benjamin Köhnemund - Drums Check out a few songs from the unreleased "The Daily Grind" mini-CD on the band's MySpace page. |
