Tankcsapda is a band from Hungary. Judging from their Hungarian spoken website they mainly play in Hungary. My Hungarian is non-existent so that’s about all information I could figure out.

They play rock ‘n roll songs with a party-ish vibe. The music is pretty standard. It has mostly up-tempo drums and exchangeable guitar tunes. The singer makes the difference, because he sings in Hungarian. It’s probably big fun to see these guys play live. Doesn’t do much for me on CD, although the quality is not bad.

The CD comes with a DVD. The 3D animated interface looks awesome. It features a photo gallery and a concert (playtime 1 hour) which is shot in a venue in Budapest city park (and I know it’s recorded there because I’ve been in that park last summer’s holiday). The concert is quite well documented with various camera positions and well-recorded sound. It gives a good impression of what it’s like to see these guys play live. And as I predicted, it looks like big fun.

The whole package looks quite professional. With nice artwork and an all black and shiny jewel case. I’ve got to give them credit for that. All in all, I think this band is rocking the place in Hungary and they’re doing an excellent job in doing so. For fans of this band the package is probably great, but to me it’s not really special. But it triggered my curiosity and next time I get the chance to see them play in Hungary, (Sziget maybe?!) I’ll definitely give it a go.

Line Up:
Lukács László - bass&vocals
Molnár Levente - guitar
Fejes Tamás - drums
