After a period of four years the self-professed “Rebel You Love To Hate” Billy Milano is back with a new album! For those of you who don’t know this guy: Billy Milano started out as an Anthrax roadie, but was asked to sing in a side-project called Stormtroopers Of Death (S.O.D.) founded by Scott Ian, Dan Lilker and Charlie Benante (all Anthrax). After a demo tape and the controversial full-length Speak English Or Die the band split up and Milano started his own band – Methods Of Destruction (M.O.D.).
Red, White And Screwed is once again a mixture of political issues and some humor. ‘Jose Can You See?’ is for example about illegal immigrants and ‘The Big It’ and ‘Bullshit Politics’ also deal with sociopolitical subjects. Besides this serious side there is also a side of Milano where he is making fun of everybody. ‘Hardcore Harry’ is a diss towards Ricktalife (25 Ta Life) and ‘G.L.E.T.’ is a song which easily could be written by Tenacious D and is a comic "tribute" to King Diamond and Metallica. Overall the record contains some thrashy hardcore crossover with Milano’s typical voice on top of it. This is a great M.O.D. record, with a great sound, but if you don’t like his style and humor this is just a mediocre record. All the Billy Milano fans can buy this one without listening to it first - if they haven't already done it - and for those of you who are not familiar with him: give it a try!
