Howdie!

I was asked by Carn to write a test review for metalrage because they got many boring power metal records and there weren’t enough people to do them all. That's kind of how I got into it. I got sucked into the world of music at the age of eight. Somehow I got completely crazy about Michael Jackson (guess the guy is attractive to younger people). I had the opportunity to see him live at the age of ten which was a really big deal to me. Standing (or rather sitting or dad's shoulders) between 60000 screaming people was pretty cool. After that I listened to rock in general for a few years. It was my six year old brother (whom I secretly looked up to) that introduced the world of metal to me. Of course starting with Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and other popular names. It was also then that Cradle of Filth had a pretty big popularity boom and that's when I knew what metal I specifically liked. I didn't really like the singing by CoF but the melodic parts just made me wet myself. So I looked up for some bands that played melodic or symphonic and that's how I came to power metal and such.

Also because of my brother I decided to start drumming at the age of 15. He played guitar and I wanted to do something too!

By now I'm about to enter the world of twenty year old people, I'm still playing drums every day and I'm soon about to have first gig with my own power metal band (25 April, being the support of my brothers band ). I did some gigs before but those didn't work out eventually.
- Sonata Arctica
- Edguy
- Doro
- Warlock
- Jon Oliva's Pain
- Timo Tolkki
- Nightwish
- Epica
- Trivium
- Iron Maiden
- Accept
- Saxon
- Helloween
- Rhapsody
- Dragonforce
- Flogging Molly
- Beethoven (first power metal music imo)
- Trans-siberian Orchestra
- (old) Metallica
- Cryhavoc (way too unknown and too underestimated )
- Excalion
- Scelerata
- And of course many many more

Cheers,

Peekay
