First of all, I'm not qualified to review this band as I don't know any of their material. But on the other hand, nobody else in our staff is qualified to do this either, so I guess I was the assigned person to do it. As the fans of this band probably already know, this is the last release of Reverend Bizarre, therefore it is dubbed III: So Long Suckers.

It's a double album filled with Black Sabbath-like doom, which is very nice to listen to, even in my opinion. When I dug in memory I recalled that I even saw them play once, but I really hated it back then and even left to get something to eat. But after hearing these discs a couple of times, I must say I, really getting into it. The songs are good, the riffs are good and so are the beats, the production is awesome (especially the bass sound rules), what more does a doom fan want? Well, the vocals might be a point of irritation for some, and usually I'd be the first to slag them since they are pretty high, sometime a bit priest-like as well. When I saw them live, I absolutely hated them for their vocals. Now, I can say this is the first doom band that strictly uses these vocals which I like. Times change indeed.

And how brutal are you to have a double disc release and start the first one with a track that lasts for almost thirty minutes, just like the last track on disc two. And guess what, it doesn't get boring at all! I'm really starting to dig the Reverend Bizarre, this is almost causing me to check out more of their material. True doom indeed. Just too bad that they exploit this saying as well, slagging other ‘not true' doom band. Fuck that.

Overall it's a great album that I will play probably another few times to come. If you like your doom slow yet groovy, drenched with the spirit of Black Sabbath, this band might be fit for your ears. Fans can buy it without even listening to it. For now we just have to wait for the reunion to come in five to ten years or so, because they all return sometime now don't they.
