It happened again. The last time it occurred I couldn't normally listen to music for weeks and weeks...I'm talking about the very very very very annoying Arnold Schwarznegger sound-a-like that's telling me that I'm listening to a promotional CD brought to me by Massacre Records. First of all, the mailman brought me my CD. Second, I know dumbass, it says so in the cover!

This promotional record, which is brought to me by Massacre Records, is the latest effort to conquer the world from the band Human Fortress. The title of the album, the label and the bandname are kind of a give away as far as the sound of this band is concerned. It's a bit proggie, but not too much. Guitars are nice and loud, drums are pretty straight forward and the singer sings as if he is telling his fellow vikings to row a tad harder.

The thing is, that it's not bad music, it just sounds like a whole lot of other bands and it doesn't stand out from the crowd (not even in the slightest!). There is nothing really defining bands like these. And that, my friends, is a damn shame.

The album starts out nice and heavy, but then already in the first song suddenly there's the need for opera and a female goes nuts on a microphone! From there on, the album sounds quite the same and has a real dramatic feel to it. If it's yo' thang, it's an OK addition to your collection.
