The Peacocks from Switserland have released Touch And Go last year and this time its time for some leftovers from that recordings. Indeed this album called Gimme More, The Best of The Rest & Leftovers is filled with seven unreleased leftovers. As a bonus they put the video for ‘Gimme More’ on this same shiny disc.

Starting with ‘Half Mast Flag’ the atmosphere is immediately good. The stand up bass is very present in this songs it pushes it to another level and makes it very hard to sit still. The second song ‘Happened Before’ is quite mediocre and is over before you even know it. Luckily after that it’s time for ‘C’mon Everybody’ which is a great party song where you instantly get in the mood and start moving along with the music. During the rest of the songs I have sometimes the urge to skip some of the songs. Especially ‘Drink Alone’ is an example of that.

The release of this album is probably just a decision that was made by the record company. On the other hand it’s a shame if these songs never would see the light of day because some of them are great. With the total playing time of only fifteen minutes this album could be a nice one to create some appetite for the next album. Oh and they do get some extra points for the stand up bass which in my humble opinion couldn’t be absent in a rockabilly band.
