Media Solution hails from Italy, hence the coordinates in the title of this EP. For some reason their name attracted me and so I decided to give it a shot. The band is said to be a hardcore / metal act and is supposed to send a cluster bomb down your spine with their EP 45°03’N007°40’E. I do realize this all sounds a little vague but hey, it wasn’t my decision to use an Italian biography! Here’s what to expect.

As for the music, Media Solution did quite a decent job on creating something that you don’t hear too often. Not that it’s all that original, it’s just that this band builds in quite some tempo changes, which makes for an interesting mix. There’s up tempo metal passages, combined with almost progressive like intermezzos. Not that bad really!

Also the vocals fit in the music quite well. But my main concern is that they’re just not that special. Just raw and in your face, but not really in a way it makes me scream for more. When listening more closely, also the production of this EP lacks some quality. It all doesn’t sound too smooth where I think that should’ve been the case.

So yeah, there’s some decent music on this disc; a nice mixture of metal, progressive and hardcore. The latter being hard to find by the way. But all in all, I don’t consider Media Solution that great a band. Therefore they take their name too seriously because they made it too easy for the media to review their EP. Hopefully next time they’ll manage to produce some catchier songs ‘cause not all hope is lost for these guys yet!
