Pinkpop reveals this years line-up

After a lot of rumours and speculating, this years Pinkpop line-up has officially been revealed yesterday. Here are the names:

Saturday May 26th:
Marilyn Manson, Within Temptation, Juliette & The Licks, Wir Sind Helden, Good Charlotte, C-mon & Kypski, Stevie Ann and Viberider.

Sunday May 27th:
Muse, Snow Patrol, Iggy & the Stooges, Razorlight, Gabriel Rios, Lostprophets, Ilse DeLange, Gogol Bordello, Ozark Henry, Amy Winehouse, Maximo Park, Paolo Nutini and Goose. 

Monday May 28th:
Smashing Pumpkins, Linkin Park, Arctic Monkeys, Scissor Sisters, Wolfmother, The Fratellis, Evanescence, Dave Matthews Band, Korn, Stone Sour, 30 Seconds To Mars, The Kooks, The Magic Numbers, Macy Gray, Maria Mena and The Five O Clock Heroes.

it seems strange to me that Fields Of Rock has spent tons of euros on bands that a large portion of the rock audience doesn't really care for, and that therefor Pinkpop has booked all those bands that should have played on FoR..

But it is one of the better Pinkpop line-ups in years. Many, many years. Rock Werchter still beats Pinkpop handsdown this year if you'd ask me.

well, FoR is profiling itself as a metal festival, not "mainstream rock" which is clearly more of a pinkpop thing for this year. I bet if FoR had the Dynamo name nobody would be complaining :)

good point.

or not really, really.

I doubt Velvet Revolver and Audioslave would ever have played Dynamo. Somehow Linkin Park and Marilyn Manson don't seem that far off for the former Eindhoven event, nor Fields Of Rock.

I think the FoR line-up is great by the way.

thats true as well. But I think its a good step that there is a multiple day rock/metal fest. We all know that the old "Dynamo" will never return. 

Regarding the price of FoR..yes it's expensive; but if it was 62,5 for a single day with those bands most people wouldnt complain..I think Maiden cost around 40 the last time ?

well they would. I even heard people complain about the raised ticketprice of pinkpop (about 15 euro more than '06).

bitching and moaning is a dutch birthright and we'd be damned if anyone tried to take that away from us!

I don't get that complaining thing about prices. Either get on a train to Rock Am Ring or Graspop, or just stay home (and pay 55 euros for Slayer alone indeed).
