Swedish thrashers The Haunted have been confirmed for this year's Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place July 31 - August 2, 2008 in Wacken, Germany.

The Haunted is currently writing material for a new album, which the band plans on recording in the spring for a late 2008 release.

The group's last CD, "The Dead Eye", was recorded in Denmark at Antfarm Studios with renowned producer Tue Madsen (Himsa, Sick Of It All).
