Heathen completes drums for new album
Drummer Darren Minter, who recently rejoined reactivated San Francisco Bay Area thrashers Heathen, has issued the following update:

The drums [for the new Heathen album] are done. I repeat: the drums are done! They were finished on Sunday the 20th and they sound killer for the new Heathen songs. We still have a lot of work to get done but I have no doubt that the songs are going to smash your face in (like we've never heard that one before). Juan [Urteaga], our producer, did a killer job working with me and the other guys love working with him so the process should go pretty smoothly."

Heathen's long-awaited new album is tentatively scheduled for a late 2008 release via Mascot Records. Photos from the recording sessions are available in the "Pics" section of the band's MySpace page (free registration required to view pictures).

The band's current lineup is rounded out by Lee Altus (guitar; Exodus), Kragen Lum (guitar; Prototype), Dave White (vocals) and Jon Torres (bass; Angelwitch).

Heathen's next live appearance will take place at the Thrash Assault 3 Festival on October 11 at Soundpark-Ost in Wurzburg, Germany.

Fan-filmed video footage of Heathen performing the new song "Arrows of Agony" on April 5, 2008 at the Keep It True X festival in Lauda-Knigshofen, Germany can be viewed below (courtesy of "stoneagelightning").

Heathen's entire 2005 demo is available for free download at this location. The tracks featured on the demo are "Empty Nothingness", "Dying Season" and "Arrows of Agony".

Heathen released its latest CD, "Recovered", independently in the spring of 2004. The effort featured covers of songs from Queen, Thin Lizzy, Tygers Of Pan Tang and Sweet Savage, as well as an original track, "In Memory of?" (written and dedicated to former band member Randy Laird and singer David White's brother Jeffrey).
