Slipknot's Crahan offers 'All Hope Is Gone' track-by-track breakdown
ARTISTdirect has posted Slipknot percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan's track-by-track breakdown of the group's new album, "All Hope Is Gone". Read it at this location.

"All Hope Is Gone" is scheduled for release tomorrow (August 26) via Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" was recorded at Sound Farm Studios in the band's home state of Iowa with producer Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Simple Plan, Mudvayne).

Slipknot was forced to cancel several European festival appearances as well as performances for Mtv Europe and Virgin Tv after drummer Joey Jordison broke his ankle. According to a statement issued by the band, doctors have advised Jordison to stay off the ankle for four to six weeks to prevent "further injury or permanent and more serious damage." Slipknot expressed its "huge regret and disappointment," adding, "Canceling shows is never an easy decision and we apologize to all our fans, friends and family for not being there to throw down with you. We will be back in Europe this November and can't wait to see you all then."

Slipknot rarely cancels gigs and has even done tours with members missing due to injuries. Singer Corey Taylor told The Pulse of Radio that the band always tries to find a way to make the show go on. "I'm very proud of the fact that I've only canceled four shows in my entire career, and it was only because I was just physically unable to do it," he said. "If you're able to do it, at least get up there, you know. At least do your best. I mean, the fans appreciate that beyond anything else. I think that's why we're still here, because we've never let that stuff stop us."
