Grey Skies Fallen unveils new strategy
2006 saw the release of the third, and quite possibly final, Grey Skies Fallen album. This is not to say the New York metal band will stop making music, quite the contrary, in fact. As announced today on the band's official MySpace page, Gsf will write and record music a new way.

Recording, pressing CDs, releasing and promoting all on their own for 12 years has not worked out, and the band is taking the steps to change that.

Beginning in November, songs will be recorded and released on the MySpace page multiple times per year. The first two songs, "Drown Me to Infinity" and "Forever and a Day", will be recorded in the coming weeks. So there will be no more "albums," but music will constantly be being produced and released.

After two years of offering the first three albums for free on www.greyskiesfallen.com, the band will begin charging for these new songs ($.99 a track). Songs will be able to be purchased directly from the MySpace store. All proceeds from these sales will go back into the band for the next batch of recording.

Ideally, the band would like to release 2-4 songs at a time, 3-4 times per year. That's an albums worth of material every year, a better way for the band to stay motivated and keep the songs coming.

Gsf is hoping this new marketing direction appeals to fans of their music, and is anxious to see fan reaction to the two brand new songs releasing next month. They have tried thinking "outside the box," as made evident by making available their entire discography for free downloading. Grey Skies Fallen is trying to show the metal community that they are still here...and still doing their thing.
