In-Quest: 'Mind Over Matter' video released
"Mind Over Matter", the new video from Belgian technical death metallers In-Quest, can be viewed below. According to the band, "It all started with a crazy dream about fate and life being no more than a fixed road of planned events. Before we knew it, we were shooting a video around it in an old metal factory, sweating our asses of in front of melting metal. 'Cuz, we figured, nothing is more metal than metal itself, arrrr! We're really proud of the result and hope you like it."

"Mind Over Matter" comes off In-Quest's new album, "Made Out Of Negative Matter", which is expected later in the year via an as-yet-undetermined record label. According to the band, the new CD "came to life in cooperation with Jochem Jacobs (Textures) of Split Second Sound [studios]. Guitars and bass were home-recorded by the band under supervision of Jochem. Drums, vocals and additional stuff were recorded by Jochem. Engineered, mixed and mastered by Jochem also."

"Made Out Of Negative Matter" final track listing:

01. Ignition Sequence
02. Mind Over Matter
03. Asynchronous Transmission
04. Walk Of A Million Mouths
05. Thy Subsonic Collapse
06. The Auxiliary Theory
07. Dysfunctional Inscapes
08. Compelled Misogyny
09. Anomaly Of A Tortured Mind
10. Hybris...
11. Evasive Crosscurrents

According to a press release, "The new album daringly redefines In-Quest's sonic foundations and introduces a more melodic, organic and massively layered approach to songwriting. It could be described as a continuation of technical 'Epileptic' [2004] enthusiasm combined with the distinct, emotional 'The Comatose Quandaries' [2005] fingerprint. Add to this the originality of the first two albums rediscovered, the cold 'Pyroclasm' brutality reinforced and a fresh, artistic and open-minded avantgarde attitude.

"Vengeance, hatred and existential crises are the lyrical key themes that confront the listener with the phenomenon 'human' anno 2009. As such, 'Made Out of Negative Matter' is about mankind, the most unfaithful breed of animals.

"To translate this concept into imagery, In-Quest re-approached Dennis S. (Damnengine, 'Epileptic'). Futuristic and cold, the album cover [see below] shows a metaphorical black hole, sucking up all matter and feeding on it."
