Obscura to release 'Cosmogenesis' tablature book
German death metallers Obscura will release an official guitar tablature book for their latest album, "Cosmogenesis", on January 5. The 145-page book contains the full tablature for all rhythm and lead guitar tracks on the album, expanded album artwork, track-by-track commentary and an introduction from the band, as well as a digital download of "Cosmogenesis" which includes isolated rhythm guitar and solo tracks, and more. In other news, Obscura has announced its return visit to the United States with a month-long tour alongside The Black Dahlia Murder starting in late February. The trek will also include Augury and Hatesphere.
Immediately prior to the U.S. tour, Obscura will team up with The Black Dahlia Murder, 3 Inches Of Blood, Necrophobic, and more for the 2010 Bonecrusher Fest. This month-long European tour will kick off on January 8 in Wiesbaden, Germany.

"Cosmogenesis", the second full-length album from Obscura, debuted at No. 71 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Cosmogenesis" was released in the U.S. on February 17 via Relapse Records (March 2 internationally). The CD features guest appearances from Ron Jarzombek (Watchtower, Spastic Ink, Blotted Science) and Tymon Kruidenier (Cynic, Exivious).
Obscura was founded in 2002 by guitarist/vocalist Steffen Kummerer. After several lineup changes, Kummerer enlisted a new team of virtuoso musicians. In late 2007, Obscura added drummer Hannes Grossmann (ex-Necrophagist) and fretless bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling (ex-Pestilence) as new permanent members. The group's latest addition, Christian Muenzner (ex-Necrophagist), came into the ranks last year.
