Iron Maiden manager auctions memorabilia to raise money for charity
While the members of Iron Maiden reconvene to start recording their new studio album, due for release later this year, their manager Rod Smallwood is in training for a charity fundraising bike ride in Egypt in late January in aid of Childline and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy.

Rod has organized the ride for forty friends, largely from the music, sport and entertainment industries, over 100 miles along the Nile between Aswan and Luxor in just 48 hours. Between them all, they hope to raise over £150,000 profit for the charities.

Rod comments: "This is a twist on us 'getting off our backsides' and doing something to really help as we will be staying on them most of the time, propelling our mountain bikes forward to raise as much money as we can for these two very deserving children's charities."

To assist this, the Maiden office will be auctioning three very special items of Iron Maiden memorabilia as part of the fundraising. This will be an auction on IronMaiden.com open only to the members of the Iron Maiden Fc and Online members of their fanclub to ensure all three items go to loving homes. The 15-day auction is now live and ends on Tuesday, February 2.

Item 1: A fantastic signed Gibson Epiphone Les Paul custom (black beauty 3) guitar with hard case. A very special truly collectable item for the Maiden fans. Not only is it one of the guitars which Adrian Smith plays, but all of Iron Maiden signed this just before Christmas - a rarity in its own right !

Item 2: Signed color poster for the DVD release of "Flight 666", signed by all members of Iron Maiden. A fantastic souvenir of Maiden's most ambitious tour to date!

Item 3: Personalized USA platinum disc engraved to Rod Smallwood for USA sales of over 100,000 for the Iron Maiden DVD "Flight 666" (one of - or possibly the - biggest-selling music DVDs in America last year).
