Mudvayne drummer takes atmoworks to a whole new level
Most people would think that the drummer for a band as busy as Mudvayne would not have much free time for his other endeavors. This, however, is not the case with Matt McDonough, who - alongside his business partner John Strate-Hootman - owns and operates Atmoworks.com.
Atmoworks.com is a download fulfillment site that features an online store that sells music through PayPal. They release independent, "Diy" musicians that focus mainly on ambient music. Matt McDonough releases his music under his alter ego "MjDawn" and he has an additional side project with his partner John Strate-Hootman, a.k.a. "Vir Unis", called "miKroNaught."
McDonough had the following to say about Atmoworks.com and his electronic side projects: "I have had a lifelong appreciation for experimental and electronic music. So working with AtmoWorks has been a great opportunity for me to explore my other musical interests. I've met and been able to facilitate other musicians? pursuits. And also find a place to release my own solo and side projects under the alias 'MjDawn' and 'miKroNaught.'"
