Rage Against The Machine announces free U.K. gig details
Rage Against The Machine will play a free concert at London, England's Finsbury Park on June 6. According to Nme.com, the show comes after the band promised to play a free U.K. show if their song "Killing In The Name" made the Christmas No. 1 slot ahead of "The X Factor" winner Joe McElderry's "The Climb".

Registration for tickets is now open at TheRageFactor.co.uk and closes at midnight (Gmt) on Sunday (February 14).

Once registered, tickets will be released on a rolling lottery basis from 9 a.m. (Gmt) on February 17, with a maximum of two tickets available per person.

"Killing In The Name" sold 50,000 more copies than "The Climb" the Christmas week to reach No. 1 on the U.K. chart in a race that gripped Great Britain. Rage donated all their royalties from sales of the song to charity.

The campaign for the Rage track, launched on Facebook by Jon and Tracy Morter, was widely seen as a backlash against the manufactured, disposable pop promoted by shows like "X Factor" and "American Idol".

Rage has invited "American Idol" and "X Factor" mastermind Simon Cowell to host the free "victory" concert the band intends to play.
