Exhumed to film Los Angeles shows for upcoming DVD
Californian gore-metallers EXHUMED have just completed filming two shows in Los Angeles at the Alterknit Lounge room of the Knitting Factory. "Both shows were oversold, and all the necromaniacs and slaughtercultists in attendance made it truly a weekend well worth filming," the group write on their web site. "The band is currently compiling in-depth interviews with band members past and present, as well as friends and associates for their upcoming DVD that will surface this fall/winter. Thanks to all the gore lunatics that came out and got crazy and the fine folks at www.mentalsuplex.com for filming our antics. We look forward to returning to SoCal and all of the states this summer on tour."

To support the release of their upcoming covers CD, "Garbage Daze Re-Regurgitated", in Europe through Listenable Records, EXHUMED will be embarking on a tour throughout May over most of the continent with support acts VOMITORY and ROTTEN SOUND and special guests PROSTITUTE DISFIGUREMENT. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

As previously reported, songs set to appear on "Garbage Daze Re-Regurgitated" include the following (original composer/performer listed first):

HEXX – "Twice as Bright, Half as Long"
EPIDEMIC - "In Fear We Kill"
AMEBIX - "The Power Remains"
UNSEEN TERROR - "Uninformed"
G.B.H. - "Necrophilia"
PENTAGRAM - "The Ghoul"
SIEGE - "Drop Dead"
MASTER - "Pay to Die"
METALLICA - "Trapped Under Ice"

EXHUMED recently announced the addition of bassist/vocalist Leon del Muerte to the group's ranks. Leon, known for his guitar work with EXHUMED (1996-1997) and IMPALED (1998-2001), has been with the band as a touring bass player throughout the "Anatomy is Destiny" tour work, encompassing three U.S. tours, two European tours, as well as in Japan, Canada, Australia and Iceland.

In other news, EXHUMED have issued the following statement regarding the passing of their good friend, NASUM guitarist/vocalist Mieszko Talarczyk:

"It is with a very heavy heart that we wish to express our deepest sorrow at this tragic turn of events. Mieszko's body was finally identified as one of the 150,000+ victims of the tsunami disaster in Thailand this winter. We have all tried to hope for the best since we first heard that he was missing, but things didn’t go that way. Mieszko was a good friend of all of ours and we had a lot of great times with him on tour in 1999 and during the recording of 'Slaughtercult' as well as whenever our paths crossed in Europe. We will treasure those even more now. This is obviously a really sad day not just for us but for everyone into grind, who knew him through his work. Our thoughts are also with the remaining NASUM guys, and Mieszko's family and friends in Örebro and around the world. It's really difficult to think of someone so full of energy and intensity in the past tense — all we can say is that this really sucks and we miss the dude very much."
