The Fourth Season is already the fourth album for Australian melodic metallers Vanishing Point. Their previous release, Embrace the Silence, was well accepted in different countries by different metal fan-bases. Though touring heavily the band has not yet succeeded to create a breakthrough. With this record, they definitely have the potential to do so!

The Fourth Season
can overall be called a melodic power record with subtle progressive elements. The vocal duties are handled by Silvio Massare and he does that very well. The two guitar players lay down some very nice rhythms and great solos. This combined with a perfect production makes it a pleasure to listen to for every progressive metal fan and also for the average melodic fans!

After four songs I thought I had heard it and found that there were too much slow songs on the record. But just in time 'Hope Among the Heartless' started. An up-tempo song, which breaks the line of the previous ones and brings some variation into the record. Throughout the album this variation is kept, switching between fast and slow songs. Before I knew it, the record was done and I had the feeling I listened to a professional group!

Everyone who knew Vanashing Point before will like this one too. It follows in the lines of Embrace the Silence, only better on all aspects. I'd say we're going to hear more from this band later, so maybe think about getting your hands on this one!
