In 2000 the highly acclaimed Canadian black metal band Revenge was formed by J Read. After a number of releases the band comes up with its third full length for Osmose Productions, entitled Infiltration.Downfall.Death. Let the Satan worshipping commence!

 

Revenge’s black metal is produced extremely over the top. And I don’t mean overproduced as in polished and tight, but as in raw and nasty as a demon with diarrhoea. Shrieking guitars, extreme drums which sound like they’re falling down the stairs while being played on, is what this record is all about. Add the two vocal attack of which one is a nasty black metal scream and the other is probably one of the most evil nasty gross voices I have ever heard. Sounds like a pitchshifter met up with Satan and started a band. Kick ass.
 

If you like your black metal extreme and raw you’ll probably dig Revenge's new album all the way. Personally I felt highly uncomfortable by the end of this disc, which probably means it's fucking awesome to fans of this genre. Extreme music for misanthropes.
