Vanmakt is a fairly new black metal band which started out as a two-man project in 2006 but ended up as a full blown band by the time they recorded their first full length album; Vredskapta Mörkersagor. Let’s find out if they have something to add to the darkest of music genres.

Vanmakt has found a great crossover between hyper-brutal black metal and atmospheric dark melodies which works perfectly for me. The drums are so fucking fast on this record, I’m more than once considering this a death metal band if it weren’t for those trademark spacey distorted guitars. This record just blasts away like a maniac, but with a very nice groove and an awesome production. Everything sounds tip top on Vredskapta Mörkersagor!

The bio for this band states (as cheesy as it is) that the guys named Gorgoth and Vlard (as cheesy as thát is) wanted to write black metal the way they want it to sound. And I must say I very much enjoy that sound! Fans of melodic but brutal black (and some death) metal should keep an eye on Vanmakt, this could get big soon.
