Dollhouse - Rock 'n' Roll Revival

85%
Back again with their third album are the Swedish rockers of Dollhouse. Picked up by Michael Davis of MC5 who took them under his wing for their first record. Three years later the follow-up saw the light of day and in 2009, we face the Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival, again filled with rock ‘n’ soul music in the vein of classic bands like MC5, Led Zeppelin, Ten Years After and more cult music!

Let me tell you if there ever was to be an equivalent of 69’s Woodstock festival, you are sure to find Dollhouse in the line-up. This band sounds as vintage as you have ever heard them, it’s like this band time-warped in right out of a mouldy drugged rehearsal basement straight into the twenty-first century. The title of this record says it all, this record is drenched in the most eclectic of noisy rock ‘n’ roll, complete with a vintage, dirty production and the same animation bands had forty years ago.

The only thing I’m curious about is whether these dudes can convey this cult-hippie atmosphere into a live environment. Luckily I’m fortunate enough to find out by the end of this month at the Queensday festival in my home-town, can’t wait to rock out with these dudes!

To say it plain and simple, if you dig shit like Jimmy Hendrix, MC5, Otis Redding, The Stooges, The Who, Little Richard and a list that goes on and on like this, don’t be a fool and deny yourself of Dollhouse. It’s a fucking Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival, yeah!
