"Erin Halk was my little brother. He loved music, the scene, and the life. He died a hero pushing two people out of the way and didn't hesitate to jump on the psycho shooting. He was hit six times after rushing the man. He was there working, and died what he loved doing, helping others. He didn't suffer.
"Thanks for the posts, and just let there be peace.
"Our family grieves for the other victims, and we along with PromoWest Productions are planning a benefit concert for Erin in the middle of January. If you would like, I would be happy to pass more info on.
"Thanks for letting everyone get it out."
"I added a picture. Erin is on the right with the beer. Our mom, Margret Carvour, is on the left, in the middle is our family friend Tim Mckelly. Below is my son Erin's nephew Ferris Alexander Clark, a namesake of his uncle Erin Alexander Halk.
"Here is a quote of [Erin's]: 'If I ever meet an English asshole, I will tell him I'm a fat Irishman and you are lucky I'm not drunk!!!'
"R.I.P., Erin"
According to Columbus' NBC 4, Halk, 29, graduated from Upper Arlington High School and served in the United States Marine Corps.
He was working at music venues throughout Columbus and was setting up stages for bands and working security. He was working at the Damageplan concert at Alrosa Villa, NBC 4's Elizabeth Scarborough reported.
Police said that once the band began playing, Gale jumped onto the stage and began firing a handgun at band members and into the crowd. Halk was one of four people who were killed by Gale, police said.
Funeral services for Erin A. Halk were held Monday (Dec. 13) at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Clintonville.
