Ommatidia (formerly Pretence), the new band featuring Nicolas Chevrollier and Vincent Danhier (ex-The Old Dead Tree), Guillaume Host (Dustbowl), Gilles (Jarell) and Olivier (Sinn), will enter the studio in May to begin recording its sophomore album for a late 2013 release.

"I did fully express myself all along the writing process," Olivier says. "We have given ourselves a little more time on the composing. I easily built my own drums parts alongside the melodic ideas introduced by our main composers and guitarists Gilles and Nicolas. So I really think I have significantly contributed to the final result of all songs. Can't wait to enter the studio right now..."

Ommatidia released its debut album, "In This Life, Or The Next", in March 2011 via Season Of Mist. The Cd was recorded at Tour Fine Studio and was mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street (Paradise Lost, Opeth, Katatonia, Soilwork) in Örebro, Sweden.

The music of Ommatidia has been described as "dark melodic metal" with influences from such acts as Paradise Lost, Katatonia, Slayer and Tool.
