Lividity - Used, Abused And Left For Dead
After four years these American deathgrinders with a special passion for obscure porn are back with their forth CD to cruelly violate the virginity of our ears…

On the first second of the album Lividity immidiately fires its double bass as a machine-gun at the listener and it really blew me away. The bass drum sounds so heavily triggered and digital that I doubt whether the drums are played by a real person. Anyway, it definitely does sound amazingly brutal and the fills don’t sound as meaningless as with many other deathgrind bands. So if you can handle the digital sound, which you get used to pretty quickly, the drums are devastating. The only problem is that it hasn’t got much dead, stinky, rotten soul because of it and with the continuous high speeds this gets tiresome. The rest of the production is very strong; the brutality comes out very well.

It’s clear that Lividity got its inspiration from bands like Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse and Deicide, but unfortunately there isn’t much room for great solos and often just keeps on rattling. The vocals are as deep as those of Glen Benton and the high screaming works very well with it. Sometimes those screams are taken to the max and sound like some extremely stressed Chihuahua with an enermous amount of sambal up his ass trying to spit it out through his mouth. Yes, this music is sometimes absurd; as are some of the samples that pass by, like ‘The Cumming of the Trilogy (Pussy Lover pt.3)’ starts with two farmers talking about fucking chickens.

Lividity managed to make an absolutly annihilating brutal album, with disgusting elements in it, but for some it might sound too mechinical.
