Death Before Dishonor are on their way to become huge within no time, and this re-release of their EP Friends Family Forever with bonus tracks comes as an appetizer. If you’ve been paying attention then you will probably have noticed that they’ve already done tours with Agnostic Front, Madball, Full Blown Chaos and Terror. There is much to come from this band, let me explain.

These guys pack the ferocity and drive that Hatebreed showed us in the past. The rawness and aggression really stand out, also because there is little use of melodic sissy stuff. This is your straight up hardcore shit right here, moshing all the fucking way! This oughtta turn the average venue into a massacre, headwalking and kung fu hustling included.

 

As I said it’s a re-release with bonus tracks, which are two tracks from a limited edition split 7” with Germany’s Black Friday, an extra unreleased track from that session and a six-track live set at CBGB’s in New York, which covers the band’s intensity splendidly, but doesn’t really add something to the album since almost all the tracks are in studio version on the same disc. But I guess it’s a nice extra to hear them asking the crowd to get those feet moving.

 

What can I say, this stuff is a boost the hardcore scene needs. While all brutal sounding bands immediately sound like a Slayer-like metalcore band with emo garbage in it, these guys stay true to the original formula while making it sound refreshingly powerful. Hardcore kids will love this shit, and I predict that it won’t be long until we’ll hear a lot more from these guys.
