Burden Of Grief - Fields Of Salvation
Burden Of Grief, a Thrash influenced band from Germany, were founded in 1994. In 1996 they recorded their first demo and went out to play it alive. In June of 2003 they recorded their following album Fields Of Salvation. This album is to be released somewhere in 2004 and Metalrage will now bring you the review. The album starts aggressively with menacing drums and a quite nice sound. The music is something like Gothenburg Thrash, like In Flames and Dark Tranquillity. A song like Dead Soul Decline, which is founding on pounding drums mixed with spacey effects. The vocals are strong and the whispers are following the screams. The Nightmare Within is beginning quite slowly, with a weeping guitar sound. But after a minute the hell breaks loose again with blastbeats and thrash guitar howling. Man, this is surely head bashing. The album slows down with Engaged With Destiny, which is a quite slow song, but not that deadly doomy slow. With the title track Fields Of Salvation, they create an eerie sound that is purely instrumental, a nice technical song and quite original as well. Slowly Pass Out is again fast and thrashing, while this is not a very original song, the quality is high. The rest of the album is quite fast and with 39 minutes theyve created a short, but trampling album. I liked this album, its fast and heavy. Although the tracks are not all that original, the album still sounds very professional and I will keep track on this band. You wont be disappointed if you decide to buy it, as this is a nice album.
