We Are Carnivores - Well-Wisher
What we have here is the debut of a three-piece band from the UK, that experiment with progressive and postcore music in their own eccentric way. Let us find out what this newcomer to scene has to offer us on their debut Well-Wisher.

Musically, I am very impressed, with an average age of 19 years these guys sure must listen to some creepy underground music. With a highly Shellac-like  guitar sound, they can at one time drive through your living room with a bulldozer, while occasionally make you chill out and feel at ease with the music. One word describes it all, intense. The postcore is literally dripping from this disc, but they managed to give it a bit of a sound of their own, which is something I consider to be very important.

The only thing really bothering me time after time are the vocals. A bit of a high pitch scream keeps entering in their world of musical chaos and order, and it’s not helping me enjoy the music more. The hooks in the music and the songwriting in general are amazing, and in time you can ignore the vocals accompanying this, but still I would have preferred some intense clean singing over these quite meaningless screams. Too bad.

I must mention the artwork, for it really jumps in one's eye I’d say. I really like it, for it is as chaotic as they are, but as you give it a closer look you can see the structure. Mister Rupert Nelson has sure done a good job on this. I expect a lot from these guys in the future and hope they find a solution for their vocal issues, because their music certainly is something that needs to be out there.
