Balero - One Planet Short Of The Sun
Balero is an instrumental rock band from the USA that like to play the music that they love for the people that love this kind of music. Sound logical. Let’s see how it sounds then.
What we have here is a three piece instrumental rock band, that basically rocks. No more, no less. They are looking for a singer, but they have realized the key issue with such a search; a singer can make your band ten times better or ten times worse, and they’re waiting for the better, obviously. They formed in 2002 so it’s about time someone with the right skills reports to this band I’d say.
The music you hear on One Planet Short Of The Sun lies in the regions of Southern rock, stoner and rock ‘n roll, which are all styles that please me quite well. I can certainly hear resemblances to bands like Alabama Thunderpussy, Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster and Beaten Back To Pure, on the other hand, Balero usually isn’t that heavy.
I hope these guys find a vocalist soon, who knows what we and they themselves are missing out on. I do want to give extra credit for the artwork of the disc, which I find quite stylish. It breathes rock all over. I don’t know if this will be officially released in stores, let alone if it will be in a store near you, but if you ever catch it and you’re into the styles I mentioned, don’t hesitate to check it out.
