Sometimes the weirdest things end op on your doorstep. Like this Christmas album by The Wet Nuns. Six tracks in just over six minutes, performed by two guys. Accompanied by a little note which only holds a small amount of info;
Ully de Chinees and Biff ‘Bickle’ Satan are Wet Nuns. Who Ully and Biff are, what they’ve done and who they want to be is irrelevant. They are Wet Nuns and The Wet Nuns is what they do. The Wet Nuns play raw, loud and uncompromising popsongs with lyrics from hell.
This two piece band hailing from Utrecht does have a nice sense of humor, judging the songtitles like 'All I Want For Christmas Is Poo' and 'I Painted Santas Beard White With Cum'.
Musically it’s interesting as well. Drawing their inspiration from the likes of The Hellacopters, Dwarves and Zeke they lay out some firm rock’n’roll riffs with screaming vocals and utmost catchy choruses.
Half the songs are under one minute, the other three don’t even reach the 1,5 minute yet; short explosive bursts of pure rock at its best. Even though the songs are rather short, or maybe because of that, the album – or should we say EP – sounds interesting and manages to keep the full attention of the listener.
I suggest The Wet Nuns do a record for each upcoming holiday / theme. If it sounds as good as this one, they’ll probably please a lot of music lovers out there. For now; get your hands on this one and bring it to your next Christmas Dinner. Fun guaranteed!
