Hyades - And The Worst Is Yet To Come
I always had a heart for thrash metal because it was practically one of my first loves in metal music. Although I don’t listen to thrash metal a lot these days it’s always good to have nice thrash album in your cd-player every now and then. The last time Hyades from Italy had the honour of terrorizing my ears with their second album, which is called  And The Worst Is Yet To Come, that’s full of oldschool thrash metal.

The first song of the album, which is also the title track of this album, is a sort of instrumental intro with some acoustic guitars. With ‘Buried In Blood’  the album really kicks off and it’s pretty obvious where they got their influences from. The names Death Angel, Anthrax and Exodus are constantly circling through my head when I listen to this song. After this it’s time for ‘Unconform #756’ which makes it even clearer for me. Hyades did their homework a bit too good and copied a lot of everything.

But of course everybody knows that a well stolen idea is always better than a sad original one, and that’s exactly the same with Hyades. Although everything on this album is done before and has written names like Exodus, Death Angel and Anthrax all over it, it still isn’t a bad album. They even manage to let Ed Repka (Megadeth, Death, Venom) design the cover for And The Worst is Yet To Come. Again it’s not an original one but I’m starting to believe that’s probably not the goal of Hyades anyway.

In the end it’s all pretty obvious; And The Worst Is Yet To Come is a plain simple oldschool thrash album that probably would satisfy the oldschool thrash metal fan. On the other hand, for the rest of the metalheads this album is one to forget because it probably wouldn’t fulfil your needs anyway.
