Soultamer - The Remedy Comes In Disguise
Sometimes you wonder what you have to do with all those musical ideas that are inside your head. Especially when they doesn’t match your own band. Well Victor Nefkens of The Badlands just starts a project, calls it Soultamer and invites the vocalist of Discipline, Joost de Graaf to join him on vocals. After this they start to record some music and release it. That’s the story behind The Remedy Comes In Disguise in a nutshell.

This album intrigues me for quite a while now which makes it very hard to write a review about it. I don’t want to present it as the best album since the beginning of man, but on the other hand every single song on this album sounds great. After just a few spins the songs get under your skin and before you know it you're singing them in the streets, during work and even in your lunch breaks. I remember I played it several weeks ago for the first time. I got completely overwhelmed by the songs on the album and I wasn’t able to do anything for half an hour than just sit and listen.

Soultamer starts with an equally named song to warm up the listener, which is followed by ‘Dance’, which is one of the catchiest songs on this album. I was even dancing along before I’d noticed it. ‘Feel It’, which is the third song on the album has a great vibe in it that pushes the song forward and ‘Rough Diamond’ is indeed a rough diamond. I could go on like this with every song on the album but I guess you get the point.

This hardrock/punk/rock album is certainly one of the albums that will come back in my yearlist and make many spins in my CD-player in the future. I still find it a bit strange that I can’t find anything about this album that I don’t like. The only setback with this album is that it ends after 42 minutes. You probably got my point by now but I just say it once more; a great album that is a great miss in your album collection.
