Patton Oswalt - Werewolves And Lollipops
Once again Metalrage has received an album that is totally irrelevant for a metal webzine. It’s not classical music, Christian choirs, nor is it the potential reunion live album of the Spice Girls. It is mister Patton Oswalt, an up and coming comedian who does one of the voices in the new Disney movie Ratatouille. Sounds metal doesn’t it?!

What we have here is a live registration of a couple of Patton Oswalt’s performances in the Cap City Comedy Club in Austin, Texas somewhere last year. The DVD was recorded in the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia. My reviewing in this field of expertise is like non-existent, so I hope I have something useful to say about it. This release comes as a CD/DVD set, which vary from each other. The CD part has more stand-up footage than the DVD, and there are some different jokes on both of them. Like the visual aspect has a moment where somebody in the crowd gets pissed on, while the CD has a part where somebody yells through his one and only emotional and moving parts. So it’s not like they just gave you a CD and DVD with the same stuff on it.

The DVD also comes with a sort of MTV Cribs episode, where Patton shows you his house. Would you believe that this guy has a one-man gay disco in his house?! Wow! Both the DVD and CD last little under an hour, in which you’ll occasionally laugh yourself to death. I’m not gonna spoil the fun and tell all his jokes, just check it out. He’s pretty funny. But I do want to mention that everybody should check out the movie Death Bed: The Bed That Eats People. Indeed go IMDB that.

So there you have it. A review about stand-up comedy on a metal website. Why? Why not?! Metalheads can laugh too! ;)
