Generation XXX - Victims? Accused?
What we have here is a somewhat mysterious band: Generation XXX. A band without a website and band members that are only known by the instruments they play. Add up mysterious (but cool) cover artwork to their latest released MCD and you'll find yourself in the dark, wondering what the hell to expect from this Finnish band. Well, let's find out then huh?!
What you can expect is simple: brutal-as-fuck hard-/metalcore. Damn, this isn't at all what I expected! Generation XXX spits out an enormous wall of concrete in the shape of music, not giving you any time to rest and to stop jumping around your room as a maniac. Especially the combination of two vocalists works out fine with this band. One vocalist for the metalcore screams, the other for the more hardcore-based, lower vocals.
Also the production is very important on this MCD. Besides the fact it's quite a clear mix, it also contributes to the brutal, thick sound of the band. Although it may not be original in any form, the music definitely kicks ass and I can't imagine that someone into the genre won't like the music of this mysterious and pretty much unknown band.
It's just 5 songs (the first song on this disc is divided in two parts) and so it's only a good 11 minutes of brutal listening pleasure. But hell, if these guys will release a full-length I'm definitely gonna check it out again! Hard-/metalcore fans should give it a shot!
