Ratface - Demon Dayz
Before me lies the debut MCD of Ratface, a Finnish thrashy hardcore band. Let�s see what these tough guys are all about.
The album opens very powerful with a brutal thrash riff and a blastbeat. Hyper aggressive hardcore is the basis for Ratface�s music, with a tough guy attitude. Over the top, primitive vocals by MC Respektor just spit venom in your eyes. Judging from this name (and the lyrics) it is obvious that hip hop is an influence in their music as well, something that helps a lot with beatdown parts I�ve come to learn.
There are definitely some great riffs to be found in the mere eleven minutes on the disc, but it might be hard for some people to deal with the vocals. They�re really over-the-top old-school with a hip hop attitude. Personally, the more I listen to it, the more I like it.
So after hearing this disc a couple of times I really start to wonder how this would look in a live environment. I bet that shit will hit the fan as soon as the pick hits the strings. People into aggressive hardcore should definitely check this out.
