Murw - In De Mond Van Het Onbekende Rust Een Oceaan
With a website thats about as useful as cock-flavoured ice-cream and no band info whatsoever to accompany the album, Im a little shy on info on Murw (I emailed them for info, but no reply was given, got the line-up thanks to our editor-in-chief). The albums title is translated more or less In the mouth of the unknown, an ocean awaits. I have no idea what it means but it sounded cool, so I figured Id review the thing. What sounds even cooler is the title of the third song on the album No way back, thus dead ahead.
Those are the things I most enjoyed on the album. This is the type of music you like, or you really dont. I belong to the latter group. The recordings are pretty crappy. The guitar parts arent that bad though and the drummers ok as well. It takes them pretty long to get to where theyre going though. There are songs up to 9 minutes on this one. And Im a huge TOOL fan, so it shouldnt bother me, but it does because they're not really going anywhere!
After a couple of minutes into the album a strange noise comes on. It sounds like someone got stuck on between the doors of a bus and is screaming for help. The words that came to my mind here were; Quest-ce que cest? This because I understand French quite as well as I can understand this guy, which is NOT, and I pretty much like the French as much as I like this music.
I know that there are people that tolerate, and some actually like this musicI know, but I guess I just dont get it. Its going to take a lot of good music, and maybe even some counselling or
to get this out of my system.
