However, summer's long gone and colder temperatures seem to be here to stay for a long, long time. Days are getting shorter, and colleagues at your job turn up with disgusting crusts on their chapped lips and with scarves around their necks. Fuck my ass: it is winter. Before you know it you listen to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Canned Heat and early Deep Purple, preferably on vinyl. And when you top it off with some Orange Goblin, Witchcraft, Leaf Hound and Brant Bjork you get that sumire hint of a summer feeling. I can see myself adding Gentlemans Pistols to that list this coming winter.

 

With a fine combination of some of the above, the Gentlemans Pistols play rock that in modern terms probably relates to Witchcraft and Leaf Hound the most. You know, the sound of four guys that probably have beards, and if not they should just to not ruin your expectations when you see them perform at Roadburn 2008, most likely in the small hall.

 

Not the most original sound heard on plastic this year, but probably one of the most needed in chapped lipped times as these. Great stuff for forgetting the fact you've just bought the first bottle of cough medicine of the year. And with just the right girl and the right dosage, that cough medicine will fit the mood of this great little cd just right.

 

That would be my conclusion. Music for fucking on cough medicine. With your beard growing steady. Soon enough you'll be turning up at work with the same crusts next to your mouth. Suddenly you know what your colleagues listen to at home. And no-one will cough. This winter is going to be sweet.
