While Sunn 0))) usually tries to go as low as possible, Oren Ambarchi�s solo work is a lot lighter and easier to digest. His main instrument is a guitar, but this is (mostly) used in a way that 99% of all guitarists never even think about. The music on In The Pendulum�s Embrace is a highly relaxing ambient album, that even carries some form of spirituality in it if you ask me. Meditative ambient drones created by guitars are accompanied by instruments such as bells, harmonicas and even the slightest bit of drums. All brought to you in the calmest, mildest form of music.

 

Personally I like the last track �Trailing Moss In Mystic Glow� the best for it�s �lead� acoustic guitars, which adapt a more important role as the song progresses. It has something mystic about it, and it is in a higher tempo than the other two songs. But all three songs are great music for relaxation, meditation, having intercourse or just falling asleep. I like all (if you count smoking pot for meditation), so this record will make quite some spins in the future here. How �bout you?
